No Liberty Know globalism
In
the beginning there was no such thing as civil government
because there was no need. Adam and Eve, sinless and
living in a perfect world, did not need civil guidelines
by which they would live. They had absolute freedom
and all the physical and spiritual faculties to enjoy
it. When, however, they chose to rebel against God
and were driven from the Garden, things changed very
quickly. Their descendants soon developed the concept
of communal living and villages began to spring up all
over. Two major reasons associated with village life
were mutual protection and commerce.
But, along with the benefits of close-quarters
living also came the need for some type of government.
Civil and criminal law had to be established, enforcement
had to be implemented and arguments had to be settled
by a disinterested party, i.e., the local judge or council.
To the degree all of this judicial maneuvering brought
a sense of stability to the group, it was good. However,
when liberty was taken away by monarchs, oligarchies
and other such agents of tyranny things became very
bad. The group was then governed not by the principle
of law under which everyone was equal in both value
and personal responsibility, but by the principle of
survival-of-the-fittest when the strong placed the weak
in fear and subjugation. The next step was slavery
in which citizens owned nothing, had no rights except
those tyrants gave them and were unable to do anything
about their miserable plight because the government
took away every recourse including their weapons by
which they might defend themselves.
There is an old saying about the best
form of human government being a benevolent dictatorship.
I agree that this is true, but only when Jesus Christ
will personally take the reigns of world-wide government
in the future. For the present, though, there is no
such thing possible because of the evil heart of unregenerate
humanity.
The Founding Fathers of these United
States recognized that liberty comes from God alone,
not the government. They clearly said so in their declaration
when they told King George they were… “endowed by the
Creator with certain unalienable rights…” This great
truth is most often taken for granted, and as a result
most students do not understand that God is the author
of liberty and not human government. Some years ago
a civics teacher in a public school in Avoyelles Parish,
Louisiana was visibly confused when a guest lecturer
pointed this out to her class by having one of her students
read from a copy of the Declaration of Independence
located in the appendix of her class text book.
The world is rapidly spinning toward
the day when all human liberty and individual rights
will be abolished. A demonically-inspired monarch will
be propelled into world-wide prominence by way of satanic
orchestration and catastrophic global events. Life
on earth will digress to the point where people will
surrender their liberty for a promise of security.
God has described this man in His word in many ways
— antichrist, son of perdition, the beast, etc. — We
do not know his name presently, but there seems to be
no doubt the stage is being set for just such a coronation
in the near future.
What will it take for this man to be
able to take such power to himself? To answer this
question we must step back from the world stage and
get a panoramic view of everything. And, in the process
of taking this broad view we naturally want to know
if our own country will have a place on the world stage
as this scene plays itself out.
It is critical to first see how this
planet is being reconfigured geo-politically into a
single global entity from that of multiple nations with
varying allegiances. Key in this effort is the abandonment
of nationalism along with the almost exponential growth
of the global citizenship idea. Though most Americans
probably find the idea of global citizenship repulsive
and totally foreign to genuine Americanism, yet some
in government are strongly in favor of the concept.
President Obama, in his July 2008 speech in Berlin said,
“...the burdens of global citizenship continue to bind
us together.” Associate Justice Ruth Ginsburg sees
no problem in using foreign law to interpret the U.S.
Constitution, and Thomas Paine, an early American philosopher,
in Rights of Man said, “My country is the world
and my religion is to do good.”
The idea of global citizenship is not
a new concept. Thomas Paine wrote in the 18th century,
but such efforts at uniting humanity go back much farther
— even to the Tower of Babel in Genesis 11. The desire
for global citizenship is currently playing into the
hands of Satan and his agenda by preparing the world
to accept a global monarch. In essence this renowned
ruler will offer himself in answer to the world’s demand
for a benevolent global dictator. He will present himself
as the world’s messiah and the world will capitulate
to his every whim. Very quickly, though, his true nature
will be revealed.
America is the rare exception among
nations in that our country was founded upon the idea
of God-given liberty being exploited in the exercise
of the God-given responsibility to take the gospel to
the whole world (Mayflower Compact). This strong biblical
world-view, held in the hearts of most of our Founding
Fathers, resulted in America becoming a godly nation
governed by biblical principles and blessed by God far
beyond even the imagination of most people in the world.
"It cannot be emphasized too strongly
or too often that this great nation was founded,
not by religionists but by Christians, not on
religions, but on the gospel of Jesus Christ."
- Patrick Henry
"Providence has
given to our people the choice of their rulers
and it is the duty as well as the privilege and
interest of a Christian nation to select and prefer
Christians for their rulers." - U.S. Supreme
Court Chief Justice John Jay

That conviction, however, is no longer
predominate. Liberty has been corrupted into license
with the result being ours is presently a nation officially
in rebellion to God. There is still somewhat of a strong
Christian presence, yet our government has ham-strung
every effort toward any godly objective under the false
guise of “separation of church and state”. This “separation”
has been key in pushing our country onto the slippery
slope of globalism. And that causes us to wonder what
might happen to our country as she travels this path
to godless globalism.
The U.S. is not specifically mentioned
in prophecy and this omission has been an area of interest
for a lot of people. The purpose of this article is
not to attempt to identify any such role, if there is
one, for that has been addressed many times by many
prophecy scholars. The direction in which our government
is going is quite obvious — no scholarly credentials
needed to figure out that one. So, the better question
in my opinion has to do with what will America do to
put herself into the camp of globalism. The answer,
I believe, is in two parts.
The first part is in progress, and
that is the national loss of the biblical worldview.
Spiritual corruption (and its associated moral degradation)
has invaded the warp and woof of American culture in
direct proportion to our demand to be free from “religious
constraints”. Spiritual corruption has been dressed
up to appear as freedom, and in the process many people
have bought into its lie. And part of that lie teaches
the simple-minded that throwing off all semblance of
godly living will automatically result in a new-found
freedom to do what you want with whom you want when
you want. This is idiocy! There is no such thing as
freedom without responsibility. What modern culture
refuses to recognize is that godliness does not inhibit
freedom, but enhances it. Rails do not unduly constrain
a train — they give it freedom to be everything a train
is meant to be, and to do so without being destroyed.
The second part has to do with what
Americans are willing to surrender in order to have
“peace and wealth” in this global utopia. We all remember
the words of Ben Franklin, ‘‘They that can give up essential
liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve
neither liberty nor safety." Yet, it seems, many
Americans are ready to make just such a trade. In the
process we will lose that which is God-given and find
ourselves with tyrannical “safety” where a global government
will promise to meet all needs. The purpose behind
this satanic plan is to convince people that globalism
is the answer to all major problems: health care (which
is actually sick-care), commerce, the Middle East conflict,
energy consumption, so-called global warming, nuclear
disarmament, homeland security, etc.
We, as a nation, are moving in that
direction. Much of the world is virtually on board
with the idea already. The U.S. could be seen as the
final obstacle to moving the world to the place where
a global monarch will be invited to run not only international
policy, but individual lives as well. Liberty is lost.
The government, of course, will decide what is a “real
need”. It seems clear that a number of people want
to invite the government to be their “parent”, as the
hippie said to candidate Bill Clinton some years ago
in an open forum discussion. The bottom line seems
to be that America is on the road to capitulating to
pressure, both foreign and domestic, to surrender sovereignty
in favor of global governance, commerce and so-called
security.
This whole scenario seems so bizarre
in light of our historic stand for individual liberty
and self-sufficiency. Yet, the facts are impossible
to ignore. In spite of protests by multitudes many
elected leaders seem determined to move American culture
toward globalism by subtle, and not so subtle, endorsement
of such initiatives as the UN Convention on the Rights
of the Child, the International Court of Justice, etc.
It might be said that in order for
the coming Gentile world ruler to assume global influence
the idea for such a ruler must have the almost total
backing of every major nation on the planet. If that
is even close to being accurate America must be sold
on the idea. And, she seems to be going in that direction.
How will this happen? Maybe in a couple
ways. The current war for the soul and will of the
American people could become an agonizing war of attrition
where lovers of liberty will eventually be defeated
at the polls or in the streets. Ho Chi Minh taught
us a lesson about how relentless persistence by an implacable
enemy can so dispirit a people they will give in just
for some sense of relief. Or, perhaps the taking out
of the church (rapture) will create such a vacuum with
such chaos that those left behind will, maybe in mob
form, demand somebody do something to reinstate stability.
At this point America might indeed accept abdication
of sovereignty and liberty for — again — some sense
of relief.
The fact is global circumstances will
cause the world to one day soon beg for an absolute
ruler to take over. The details about this event are
unknown, and are actually irrelevant if you think about
it. The fact is, it is coming. Whether American Christians
will see the political demise of our great republic,
or some portion of it, is also not known. The thing
we do know, however, is we are living on the precipice
of the greatest event in recorded history. It, too,
is coming. DLM
