The Death of Islam
That
the bloody and hate-filled religion of Islam will one
day be smashed between God’s hammer and His anvil
is not even up for debate. It is going to happen. All
the screaming by the Imams and all the blood-letting
by the homicide-bombers will not change its hell-bound
destiny. Never in the history of humanity has the evil
mind of mankind conceived and birthed such a despicable,
vile and beastly religion as Islam. Yet, one day in
the not-too-distant future Islam will be destroyed and
swept into the garbage dump of history. Naturally we
ask how and when will this happen.
Many of us are becoming quite weary
of the way the U.S. leadership, and that of the western
world, is handling the growing Moslem problem. True,
our enemy does not wear a certain uniform and has no
particular country of origin. True, it has no capital
city that can be attacked and no central government
that can be beaten into an unconditional surrender.
It is also true Islamists are in our own country even
now with intentions of mass murder, but whose presence
is not easily identifiable. Without question this has
to be a very vexing problem for our leadership.
There is something, however, that can
be done. But, it is not being done because the U.S.
and our western allies do not have what it takes. As
a nation and as a world we are kowtowing to a sworn
enemy in an effort to not be labeled reactionary, biased,
etc. Obviously, it is more important to the powers-that-be,
and even to some or our citizens, to be politically
correct in this matter than it is to deal with it with
even a measure of sanity. It is becoming more obvious
day by day that we are committing national suicide by
insisting on political correctness in dealing with Islam.
So, has God given us at least some
sort of insight as to what is going to happen? Does
this problem have a place in prophecy? I think it does.
I also believe Islam will not be the final scourge many
of us fear it will be. Yes, it will be used by God as
it attempts to annihilate the non-Moslem world and subjugate
what might be left of it, but Islam will not end up
being the real problem for the world and for Israel.
Something - someone - more sinister is waiting in the
wings.
Recently Fox News broadcasted a documentary
titled Obsession: The Threat of Radical Islam.
A fine job was done in putting together a voluminous
amount of video for this project and Fox did a great
job in giving us a portion of it. However, I have a
very strong disagreement with the basic premise that
is found in the title: radical Islam.
When we say “radical” Islam
the implication is that historical Islam was not violent
and bloody; that historically it has been a peaceful
religion; that those who kill in the name of Allah have
hijacked a peaceful religion and are not following the
teachings of the peaceful Koran. This might be politically
correct thinking, but it is unadulterated idiocy —
and that is where our leadership makes its first and
deadliest fumble in this whole thing about Islam. There
is no such thing as peaceful, non-radical Islam. Everyone
who has read the Koran and at least portions of the
Hadith knows better. Everyone who has given even a cursory
look at the life of Mohammed and his successors knows
better. Though some Moslems might not be as ready to
conquer and kill as others, yet the religion itself
is as cold and bloody today as it was the day Mohammed
died. Do not believe for one second Islam was ever peaceful.
The fact of the matter is just the opposite is true.
Said another way, those Moslems not willing to ruthlessly
vanquish non-Moslems and impose Islamic law are, in
fact, violating the dictates of the Koran and are not
following the example of Mohammed. Let me explain.
What has to be understood is those
Moslems who are preaching hatred and carrying out murder
are doing two things. First, they are doing exactly
what the Koran says to do. All the philosophical arguments
in the world cannot void what is the fundamental tool
of Islam: the sword. What, do you suppose, will it take
for the sleek, comfortable and somewhat lazy western
world to come to terms with that unalterable fact?
Second, the hateful Imams and murderers
are following the precise example set by Mohammed himself.
Who knows how many innocent people he killed in his
conquest of the world for Islam? When he died many people
on the Arabian peninsula tried to leave the religion
of Islam. Mohammed’s successors, however, insured
such a thing would never happen and killed untold thousands
in cold blood in order to terrorize them into remaining
Moslems. This means one thing, and that is those few
Moslems who condemn terror and murder are not following
the teachings of the Koran and the example of Mohammed.
I tend to believe their so-called rejection of violence
is simply window-dressing for the world. In fact, it
is very much like Mohammed’s hudna which is a
cease-fire that can last no more than ten years and
is to be used to gain strength and re-arm in order to
eventually and finally overcome the infidels.
Further, many Islamic clerics who denounce
violence in English encourage it in Arabic. Though not
a cleric himself, Yasser Arafat was a prime example
of this tactic. He was just another ruthless dictator-want-to-be
who had more innocent blood on his hands than any other
Moslem in the 20th century and who probably died of
AIDS.
All this, however, will end. Islamic
aspirations will eventually be trampled into the dust.
Certainly we understand this would be done when Jesus
establishes His millennial reign; that is a given. However,
it is possible Islam will see its influence seriously
damaged before then. Psalm 83 (take a moment and read
it) might offer some insight. This text is seldom mentioned
by Bible teachers for several reasons. Some do not know
where to place it in prophecy. Others think it will
have to do with Armageddon. Still others see it as a
separate prophecy in Ezekiel 38 and 39. Yet, others
are not sure of anything about it because they have
not studied it. I think it is quite possible Psalm 83
could be fulfilled in the near future in a relatively
short war Israel might have with her Arab neighbors.
Such a war would obviously do several
things. It would be at least part of what will make
the Moslem world incapable of preventing the building
of the Third Temple. This in itself would be evidence
the war would destroy Islamic dreams of world conquest.
Next, the world will react economically. The cost of
the war plus the resulting embargo on Israel’s
agricultural and technical export industries would nearly
ruin her financially, if not completely. It would cause
those political divisions in the world that are now
superficial and shallow to become quite profound. That
is, those nations that are presently playing political
football with the acceptance/rejection of Israel would
then be forced to play their hand openly. Anti-Christ
will definitely use this to his advantage by making
the security of Israel (who is by then broke) part of
the covenant he will introduce to not only Israel but
the entire Middle East region.
Who would have ever thought in 1948
Israel would one day submit her security to any other
entity than Israel herself? Ah, but things have changed
greatly since 1948. And such a war would magnify those
changes even more. Modern Israeli leadership is almost
totally secular. They have no regard for the warnings
their ancient prophets gave about alliances with Gentile
nations. They could not care less for what God has said
about His providential care. The combination of secularism
and desperation will cause the Jews to almost blindly
accept the guarantees anti-Christ will offer in the
treaty he will present. Remember Jesus’ words,
I have come in My Father's name, and you do not receive
Me; if another shall come in his own name, you will
receive him (John 5:43).
That which will never change, however,
is God’s promise to keep that little nation in
the palm of His great hand no matter what happens. Though
much pain is yet to be realized by the Jews, they are
still His chosen people and His promises to them and
their ancestors are as good as His promises to the church.
Make no mistake about that!
Part of God’s taking care of
them will be His removing or reducing their current
greatest threat — Islam. I do not see Islam remaining
at the threat level it is presently because it would
be too much of an incorrigible force anti-Christ would
have to deal with. Islam will probably not be totally
destroyed in the war of Psalm 83, but it will be reduced
substantially into a more manageable entity. From where
we stand at this moment such a war would fit quite neatly
in the orchestration of anti-Christ’s ascendancy.
And it is this new Gentile ruler called
anti-Christ who will be the real problem for Israel
in the tribulation. Islam’s hatred for the Jews
cannot hold a candle to the hatred anti-Christ will
have for them. It seems almost a fluke of history that
one sworn enemy of the Jews will be cast aside only
that another more energized and vicious enemy will arise.
An enemy whose mentor and benefactor is Satan himself.
There is no doubt Satan is influencing the actions of
Iran’s president Mahmoud Amahdinejad and others
in an effort to demoralize and break Israel financially
while killing as many Jews as possible. Such Satanic
influence in high places has been around for millennia
(Daniel 10:13).
The bottom line is this: though Islam
is very definitely the number one threat for Israel
and the world today, this situation will not last. Islam
will be brought down, and the only questions are when
and how. Though we cannot be dogmatic about it, as time
goes on it becomes increasingly clear that Asaph might
have indeed written about this very event in the 83rd
Psalm.
There are yet many questions associated
with this very special Psalm that no one can definitively
answer. Questions such as, will this happen before or
after the rapture, will it precipitate a world war,
how does it fit with Russia’s interest in the
Middle East, how does it fit with other prophecies,
etc. Such questions add to the excitement of the times
in which we are living. A key in watching these events
and allowing them to grow our faith is to not become
so fixated with one particular thought that we are no
longer open to what God will do in the next moment.
Being fluid with those prophecies that are not as clear
as other prophecies are will keep us studying and searching
scripture as did the noble Bereans (Acts 17:11).
One thing is certain: Islam in its
current monotheistic mode and its unalterable aim for
world domination cannot coexist with anti-Christ. Since
anti-Christ will be the dominant force in the tribulation
we can be assured Islam will soon be a descending star
that will crash and burn on the landscape of history.
