Giving Away Israel
Ariel
Sharon, the man who in the beginning begged Jews to
settle the Gaza area, is the same man presently responsible
for forcibly removing them from Gaza. Sharon is desperate
in wanting the world to see Israel as taking the moral
high ground in the war against the Moslem terrorists,
and he believes giving away more Jewish land to their
sworn enemies will help do that. He also believes that
“consolidating Israel” will put their country
into a better defensive position. He is wrong. Never
has the giving away of Jewish land to Arabs resulting
in either. No matter how much of her own land Israel
gives to her enemies and no matter how much Jewish blood
soaks into the sand of their country the world will
never recognize Israel as taking the moral high ground
in any matter, and especially in her struggle against
the Arabs. Furthermore, never has such action resulted
in the Arabs dropping their often repeated goal of the
total annihilation of Israel.
One of the characteristics of the Jewish
people is their longing to be accepted by the world
community. Their desire to “be like the other
nations” is actually historic (1 Samuel 8). The
truth of the matter, however, is it will not happen.
Nothing they do will ever cause the world to view them
as regular, normal or acceptable. The world readily
accepts Cuba, North Korea, Sudan, Syria, China and other
terrorist nations whose national flags are soaked in
the blood of tens of millions, but Israel simply does
not qualify. In fact, Israel is not even allowed to
fully participate in the activities of the UN —
the only nation so treated. Why is this so? The simplified
answer is they are Jews. There are numerous details
associated with that answer, but in short that is it.
They are Jews. And the world hates the Jews.
On August 19th former U.S. Ambassador
to Morocco, Marc Ginsberg, told Fox News viewers that
the “disengagement” was a good thing, and
that it will help insure Israel’s security. Mr.
Ginsberg is a highly respected diplomat who is often
sought after by news organizations for his commentary
on the Middle East. He was raised in that part of the
world, speaks several languages of that area and has
academic and diplomatic credentials which are impeccable.
So, how could a man of such caliber be so mistaken regarding
this matter?
The major reason is Mr. Ginsberg views
the situation from a secular perspective; that is, he
has no interest in what God has to say about the matter,
and he does not consider the complete history of Israel
and the land as being of any importance. This attitude
is not held by Ginsberg alone. Secretary of State Condoleezza
Rice and even President George Bush hold the same view
point. In essence, the fact that the land belongs to
God and that He gave it to the descendants of Abraham
through his only legitimate son Isaac in an unconditional
covenant has no bearing at all in their minds. What
a mistake!
Some believe that since President Bush
and Secretary Rice have some degree of “religion”
they should know better. Not necessarily. Rice’s
father was a preacher, but that does not automatically
insure she understands God’s covenants with Israel.
And, even if she does have some degree of familiarity
with the covenants that does not mean she pays any attention
to them. Obviously she does not. Mr. Bush’s religious
background is rooted in denominations whose leadership
and membership historically ignore the covenants. He
might be a man of prayer and perhaps he might be many
other things religiously speaking, but when it comes
to God’s foreign policy statement regarding His
people Israel and their land Mr. Bush is either ignorant,
or he has chosen to disregard that which he knows to
be the truth in an effort to capitalize on political
expediency.
If the problem is one of ignorance
he is without excuse, for the truth can be easily discovered
and just as easily understood. Further, if he knows
these things, but ignores them for whatever political
reasons then he is lining himself and our country up
for the direct judgment of God. You see, folks, though
God is indeed patient and full of grace, He is also
a God who has an end to His patience and he will not
stand still very long while some human being thumbs
his nose at His word.
Well, what about the Arabs? Are the
Arabs grateful for the pullout? No. They say there is
nothing to be grateful to Israel for because it is their
land anyway. This infamous lie is believed and perpetuated
by untold numbers of people who are either ignorant
or anti-Semitic or both. Even Condoleezza Rice sounded
like an Arab when she said that as sorry as she feels
for the expelled Jews and all the heartache and problems
it has caused, Israel must not think this is all the
giving they will have to do — Gaza is only the
first step.
The fact of the matter is that giving
away Jewish land will not appease the Arabs. How do
we know this? Easy — they are saying so! On August
19th Mahmoud Abbas, the current head of the Palestinian
Authority said while in Gaza City, “Today we are
celebrating the liberation of Gaza and the northern
West Bank; tomorrow we will celebrate the liberation
of Jerusalem.” Hamas and Islamic Jihad (Moslem
terrorist groups who will, according to the U.S. State
Department, give up terrorism for civil responsibilities
such as repairing potholes once they are part of the
Palestinian government...some very simple people actually
believe this) have stated strongly and without equivocation
that they will continue to kill Jews even after the
disengagement from Gaza is complete. Visit some Arab
websites, read their commentary and see how many times
you see the nation of Israel on their maps.
What more will it take for our own
government and that of Mr. Ariel Sharon to face the
truth? Mahmoud Abbas takes tens of millions of American
tax dollars every year and quickly grabs up any land
the Sharon administration hands him But, not once is
he genuinely obligated to do anything in return. And
the reason is he does not want peace. The Arabs want
every Jew driven into the sea, they want every square
inch of Israel as their own and they want Jerusalem
as their capital. We know this because they have said
so. The problem is Mr. Bush, Mr. Sharon and others say,
“Naw. They don’t really mean what they are
saying.” Reminds me so much of Neville Chamberlain
and his foolish and naïve “peace in our time”
speech.
Some actually believe that retreating
to Israel “proper” will make Israel safer
for two reasons. First, Abbas will be so appreciative
to Israel for giving up Gaza that he will reign in the
Moslem terrorists. Second, Israel will be in a better
defensive position and will no longer have to use troops
to watch Gaza for terrorist and weapons infiltration.
The first is not happening and will never happen. The
second is the Arabs themselves have already admitted
they will use Gaza as a platform from which to launch
attacks against Israel “proper”. Sharon
says he reserves the right to counterattack if necessary.
Oh, yeah? What do you suppose the world reaction would
be should the IDF launce defensive incursion operations
into the future sovereign state of Palestine? It would
be Desert Storm all over again, but this time the objective
would be Israel and not Iraq.
This is a very sad time in the history
of America and modern Israel. God is being ignored by
both countries regarding these matters. Faith would
demand that our president stand on the truth of God’s
word without regard to human political expediency just
like Joshua did when he conquered that same land over
3400 years ago. Some of Joshua’s decisions did
not make sense humanly speaking, but God honored his
obedience by driving out the pagan inhabitants and giving
the land to His people. Mr. Sharon is not a religious
Jew and therefore could not care less about what God
did for Moses, Joshua and his own ancestors. Sadly,
his people will pay a great price. Two-thirds will die
before they acknowledge Jesus as their Messiah. And
America will eventually be among those camped against
Israel. We are in the shadow of those events today.
